Wick narrows toward the top the way a candle flame does — a wide woven base tapering to a slim peak, hand-caned in a tight basketweave that’s rare to see outside restoration work on antique originals. The weaving is done by the same small workshop that supplies our cane inlays across the collection, each panel taking the better part of a day to complete by hand.

The frame beneath is a dark-stained hardwood, cut low and kept out of the way visually so the woven back stays the focus. A single loose seat cushion, upholstered in a heavier linen than the rest of the range, is the only concession to comfort on what is otherwise a very honest, very traditional piece of chairmaking.
